The Foundation for Black Communities (FFBC) is thrilled to launch Canada’s first-ever Black-led Philanthropic Endowment Fund (BLPEF).
The Black-led Philanthropic Endowment Fund is a $200 million endowment designed to resource efforts to improve the socio-economic outcomes and reduce the effects of anti-Black racism in Canada. Thanks to this historic partnership with the Government of Canada, FFBC is empowered to center the contributions, ingenuity and perspectives of Black-led, Black-serving and Black-focused non-profits and charities across the country for years to come. The BLPEF will allow us to provide various grant offerings that will broadly confront challenges faced by our community as well as invigorate imaginations and programs geared toward improving social and economic outcomes of Black communities across Canada.
How it works
FFBC will be touring Canada and connecting with Black-led and Black-focused organizations across the country. These gatherings will be an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the priorities and solutions in Black communities. This Listening Tour will inform the future grant-making, investments and collaborations to emerge from the fund.
