Key Facts

  • Amount: $10,000 per recipient
  • Goal: Reduce financial barriers for incoming Black medical students
  • Eligible Institutions: Dalhousie University, Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), and McGill University

Eligibility

To be considered for the bursary, applicants must:

  • Self-identify as Black (including African, Caribbean, African Nova Scotian, or multiracial with Black ancestry)
  • Be entering the first year of medical school
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Demonstrate community leadership and involvement
